Nicollette Sheridan enjoyed playing Edie Britt on "Desperate Housewives." Being voluntarily smacked around in the bedroom was fitting for the role of the man-eating, flirtatious Ms. Britt. Being smacked around by the producers of the program back stage and terminated without a good cause, however, was not.

How did Edie Britt die?
It certainly has nothing to do with a lover or lover's wife or girlfriend seeking revenge. It ended with a patented deadly car crash, as Zap2It outlines in the fateful 2009 episode of "Desperate Housewives." Orson, who was "running across the street after one of his breaking and entering," was saved from death as Edie swerved to avoid him. Her vehicle struck a utility pole, and fallen power lines hit the puddle of water where Edie's body had settled. Collision and electrocution did her in, a real double whammy.
That event was followed by flashback episodes of the "Desperate Housewives," remembering Edie Britt, Nicollette Sheridan's character. In two of the flashbacks, interestingly, Edie "smacks" some senses into Lynette and Bree in hopes they uncover the strength to face their problems. Mrs. McCluskey "smacks" some sense into Edie's son Travis when he finds out about her death and is barely fazed. The final smack came when Mrs. McCluskey "smacks down" Edie for her attempt to sympathize with McCluskey over having lost a son.
Were all these smacking coincidental?
It's certainly an interesting word choice on Zap2It's part, taking into account Nicollette Sheridan's experience with Marc Cherry. The episode aired more than likely before the smack down was public knowledge, so it could be coincidental. But the death of Edie itself was explained away in Gabby's flashback from the same episode, where Nicollette Sheridan's character confided that she will be meeting death before her 50th birthday. How convenient of you, ABC. We'll see if Nicollette Sheridan smacks you down, and whether you'll need secured loans.

I don't know a thing about you, but I'll bet that in youth soccer drills, the very basis of a game is its defense. When the score in a game is 0-0, it denotes defense played flawlessly by both the sides.
Nonetheless, in kids soccer drills, there are two facets of winning a game. One is when an excellent defense is displayed. And the second is by having a great offense that has the capacity to overcome the other team's defense.
If your players are not able to get the ball, they'll not be able to score. Some coaches have a tendency to train their players in either defense or offense. But, a player is completely trained only when he is proficient in playing offense when the ball is with him or her and defense when it is with the other team’s players.
During youth soccer practice, the players who fail to keep the ball in their possession should go after the ball at once. This is to say that he should attempt to get the ball back into his custody again. This will also allow sufficient time to the teammates who must pick up and quickly get into their defensive positions. This will not allow the player in the opposite team to make a free run on the field with the ball.
Players can be taught these skills by following the below mentioned techniques.
Immediate chase: When implemented correctly in youth soccer drills, it exerts a lot of pressure on the opponents from all sides. And then what happens is that the opponent either makes a wrong pass or loses the possession of the ball.
Fall back and delay: This can be possible only when the remaining team members fall back, and challenge the opponent with the ball and delay him or her from getting into their team's goal area.
The riskiest place on the field being the center, ask your players to force the opponent with the ball towards the touchline. This puts a restriction on the movement of that player to pass the ball as also the directions that he or she can travel to.
Arc of Concentration: In terms of scoring, the Arc of Concentration is the riskiest area. Most of the goals are scored by the players in the arc of concentration. So it becomes very important to teach the players in youth soccer coaching to try and take the ball out of this area.
This arc is right ahead of the goal. It starts from one corner post of the goal right through the corner of the goal box and moving right up to the touchline. A goal is possible when the ball is in this area.
