- Cut a 12 – 14 inch strip of ribbon, which ought really to be about one inch wide.
- Start at one end and fold a ninety degree corner on the ribbon
- Continue to fold these corners in a clockwise direction, being careful you keep a bit of a hole in the middle
- Once you’ve made four folds, continue to fold the fabric over the top of the prior layer, making you sure you hold the previous layers in place
- Keep doing this till there is about three inches left of ribbon
- Twist the end of the unfolded tail a couple of times
- Once twisted, loop and push the end of the tail though the hole in the middle of your folds
- Once though, keep twisting into a spiral like pattern, till it starts to make a rose pattern, this will grab and start rotating the folds as well
- Make sure to keep a hold on the layers which have not started being incorporated into the twisting
- Once all folds have been added into the spiral, secure it with a twist tie or some sticky tape to hold the end in place
- You can now make some final adjustments or the look and individual petals and folds of your rose
- Once you are satisfied with the ultimate result, use a hot glue gun on the end to make sure the whole thing stays together
