Washing Machines: Pay More For Better Quality

Ah washing machines. They can be a massive annoyance can’t they? They always seem to give up at the most vital of “Need clean Laundry!” emergencies.

Conveniently, there is a large range of machines on the market catering to almost all levels of the budget scale. But, although it may be tempting to save yourself money by purchasing your next machine from the growing range of cheap washing machines that are available, this could unfortunately cost you more money in the long term.

It is thought that most washing machines manufactured in current time are designed to last an approximate five years, so obviously, the cheaper your machine is, the less likely it will continue to be in working order upon its 5th anniversary. It may be extremely difficult to replace parts for cheaper, non-branded washing machines even if they do come with a warranty business can stop producing a machine if it doesn’t sell well, or worse, the company in question could go bust.

It seem that no matter how many times I inform my mother of this, she seems adamant on throwing her money away as she keeps buying cheap machines even though this means that she needs to buy a replacement every two years or so (we have a large family so the machine is always on). This never fails to send microwaves of annoyance through me!

We have however reached a compromise. The next time she requires a new machine she contends that she will be selecting one from the selection of Beko washing machines. Although a lot of the models in the range are on the lower end of the price scale also, from experience I can say that they are reliable machines and will fare far better than the ones she has bought from Lidl and eBay in the past (which barely broke the £100 mark).
