Using Pictures To Boost Your Internet Marketing
Internet marketing is a very broad term that essentially means the promoting of a product or service using the web as your platform. Included within this umbrella term are such things as guest blogging, article syndication, online competitions and heaps more techniques to let people know about your business. Something than many online marketers have still failed to utilise in their work is pictures. You will see images used everywhere in everyday offline marketing activities, but nowhere near as much on the web. Here are some reasons why you should be embracing pictures in your web marketing.
Pictures Speak a Thousand Words
This is a well known saying that basically means you would have to write pages of information in order to match the detail you can get from a picture. Say you are trying to sell snowboards or mens t-shirts for example. You can give basic descriptions quite easily such as size, colour, weight etc, but it is far more difficult to describe the shape, design and smaller details without using pictures.
Catch the Eye
People see text everywhere they look, and this is especially true on the internet. A frightening number of bloggers shun images totally and rely only on copy for their sites. This is rarely effective as we have learned over the years of internet browsing to simply ignore most text we see. However, as images are often unique their attraction is not diminished by over exposure. Anything that we have not seen before we are naturally programed to pay attention to, making images very effective.
Images Show Quality
In a world where everyone seems to be out to make a quick buck and there are more scams than ever before, people crave security and trust from online retailers. Text can be written by anyone and everyone and so it doesn’t portray a great deal of trust. Images though, especially ones created by the seller themselves, allow the viewer to gain a greater level of access into the business and this often leads to increased trust. For example, you are much more likely to trust a site that shows you a picture of their ladies watches for example, than one that relied only on text to sell it.
