When it comes to finding people only a couple of ideas are as successful when searching for a person on the net. In my opinion the net is the most convenient way of locating a person. As far as free ways of search are concerned finding a person on the net is good when it comes to non fee based searches.

Almost all the professions you have knowledge of have associations or organizations for people that are being trained for it. This includes all the various profession from the white collar jobs right down to the blue collar jobs. These organizations or associations can be seen on the net and can be used when trying to locate a person perhaps at no cost on the internet. I can tell you that there is an association of electricians, plumbers, nurses, teachers just to name a few that can be found on the net.
These associations or organizations have a broad structure. They will exist at national level and can be found at district level. When trying to find the person it comes to this, the lower the level the better your chances of locating that particular person and it is made possible to access the level that you think the person may be at.
There are other sites that are not professional in nature but social and I am not referring to the social networks but sites that relate to people’s interests like a NHL (National Hockey League) site or Football site where fans of those sports can be found.
