Want to know the secrets of passing exams? You will need to work hard while completing the course and when you revise. The other part comes from demonstrating your understanding during the exam.
For most people this is difficult and results in us struggling passing exams. This can be changed though with a bit of practice. Make sure that you communicate with your teacher during the course. Really try and understand what your teacher is teaching you. It is important to understand the way your course will be assessed at the end down to what type of exam you will have to take. By finding out early, you will be better off as you can plan as you go with the course.
As your exam approaches you need to make sure that you are confident with your revision techniques. Start revising as soon as you can. Put together a comprehensive set of revision notes. You can use prompt cards or keyword cards together to complement your detailed notes. Leave your prompt cards in places where you look around regulary as this will hlep you remain focused and improve what you remember.
Make sure that you revise in a location where you feel comfortable and can concentrate, that may be your bedroom or a public library. We have the habit of losing our concentration very fast so think about having shorter revision sessions.
Passing exams also requires a good exam technique. Exam technique can be learnt using a few tips and a bit of practice. You should be able to find old copies of exam papers, take some time to practice on those. See how long they take you and mark yourself. Doing this is really useful as a lot of courses tend to replicate old questions. Use it to give yourself an idea of what questions you will be asked in the exam and use this to make improvements.
When it comes to exam day make sure that you get to the room early. You don’t want to rush yourself in the morning. Make sure you have all the materials that you need and read the instructions carefully.
Answer all the questions that you have been asked to answer using your revision and your previous practice sessions and you will have no problems passing exams.
