Would You Take A Chance On A Cheap Hearing Aid?
About the most frustrating things for a hearing impaired person to handle is a cheap hearing aid. To have a hearing problem may be disheartening in itself, but to have to continually fight with a malfunctioning or low quality hearing aid is adding insult to injury. Poor workmanship or cheap parts make hearing a nightmare for the hearing impaired. It is perceivable that some people just can’t afford a reputable aid; and insurance companies have long been ornery about helping the hearing impaired. But buying an improved quality aid is better finally than wasting well-deserved money on several cheap aids that just don’t last!
Hearing your automobile make a noise when commencing or traveling might be crucial to your engine being fixed properly and could stop you from having an unforeseen event. Hearing a car approach may save your life or the life of a tiny child who is with you. Hearing your child scream for help may well be what keeps them from being injured further or kidnapped by someone you don’t know. Hearing the telephone ring, hearing an infant cry, hearing a warning to keep you out of danger or hearing an animal approach could all be important life happenings that you’d miss should you choose to buy an inexpensive hearing aid. Suppose you were at a significant event and your youngster or grandchild was relying on you to hear them sing or to hear their important part in a play? If your cheap aid is inhibiting your way of life, possibly it might be well worth the investment to treat yourself (and your loved ones) to a quality hearing aid.
Regrettably, not all dealers of hearing aids will have your best interests at heart when trying to trade you a hearing aid. Should you have the little voice inside trying to warn you about a shady deal, it pays to be conscious of it. The hearing aid ought to be a significant step to changing your life for the better. Research the company, ask individuals who already have hearing aids, and research the various brands and prices available before settling on purchase. Put differently, shop around, not only for the best aid, but for the best person to help you create your purchase. Ask an audiologist for references. Ensure the individual you buy your assistance from is easily available for any future questions, or can say you the steps you ought to take should any problems occur. You should be satisfied that you are receiving your questions answered clearly. Ask about warranties and availability of any service or parts and any costs that might be involved. Don’t just assume that paying for the aid itself is all the cost you would have to incur.
Technology has made leaps and bounds when looking at developing better hearing aids over the years. The hearing aids of right now make the older ones from years ago seem like cheap hearing aids. Aids today allow even for whispers in some cases. Cheap aids may lack the right control over volume adjustment, noise filtering, whistling, and clarity of sound.

Cure Your Tinnitus – Is Alcohol Good Or Bad For Yours?
There’s a controversy out there on the subject of alcohol and tinnitus. While many people believe that drinking and ringing ears go hand in hand, some people claim that drinking moderate amounts of alcohol actually helps with their tinnitus. Surprisingly, both sides are correct. If you would like to understand how this can be, just keep reading.
You may have heard that drinking a little alcohol reduces tinnitus symptoms in some people. Perhaps you were under the impression that drinking a little alcohol could worsen your tinnitus symptoms. Surprisingly, both those reports are correct.
A 1995 study at the Welsh Hearing Institute found that 22% of the participants reported increased tinnitus from drinking alcohol, while 16% reported reduced symptoms. The majority (62%) reported no change in their ringing ears from moderate drinking. So what should we make of these results?
Actually, this tells us a lot. First, it tells us that for most of us, moderate alcohol consumption is unlikely to affect our tinnitus one way or the other. But if it does, the effect could be good or bad. While I haven’t seen any definitive research into why the results came out this way, I can speculate based on what I know about tinnitus in general. The people who benefited from a little alcohol were probably the most stressed out people in the study. That’s because a small amount of alcohol can reduce your stress levels. And reduced stress can reduce tinnitus symptoms.
It is less clear why modest consumption of alcohol would increase tinnitus effects. But at least on possibility does present itself. It is the fact that alcohol actually acts as a stimulant for some people. Stimulants frequently increase tinnitus symptoms.
Heavy drinking, on the other hand, will almost surely increase tinnitus. The dehydration, headaches, and overall physiological damage caused by heavy drinking are almost guaranteed to worsen tinnitus.
Is Alcohol Good Or Bad For Your Tinnitus?
It isn’t that hard to find out whether alcohol affects your tinnitus and if so whether the effect is good or bad. But before we go into that, I have to be absolutely clear on this: In no way am I suggesting that you start drinking as a way to treat your tinnitus! The goal here is simply to help you find out whether or not the way you drink now in any way contributes to your hearing issues.
To find out how your current drinking patterns affect your tinnitus, you simply need to take some notes. For the next couple of weeks, pay attention to the level of your tinnitus before and after you drink, and record whether it increases or decreases.
This next step is a little harder, but can be very rewarding. Stop drinking for say 2-3 weeks. Completely. Over this period, make notes about the general level of your tinnitus to see whether it improves when you avoid alcohol. These two simple experiments should tell you all you need to know about how alcohol affects your tinnitus.
